About my work

As a clinical psychologist, I offer a holistic approach to therapy that considers the psychological, physical, social, cultural, spiritual, and energetic dimensions of each person.

My Approach

During our sessions, we work collaboratively not only to understand and address the difficulties you are experiencing, but also to support your personal growth and overall well-being.

I do not position myself as the one "who knows" but rather as someone that accompanies you in your therapeutic journey. I believe that you are the expert on your own experience. My role is to share with you my theoretical knowledge and clinical expertise to help deepen your understanding of yourself.

This also means that you play an active role in therapy. I encourage ongoing dialogue about the therapeutic direction we take together, ensuring that your perspective, questions, and preferences are taken into account.

Our work primarily takes place through conversation, which I facilitate with questions and reflections. Depending on your needs, I may also suggest practical tools, such as techniques for recognising and welcoming your emotions, identifying your needs, or establishing healthy boundaries.

Although dialogue is my primary therapeutic tool, I also integrate body-based approaches, including mindfulness, meditation, relaxation, self-massage, and gentle movement - always adapted to your individual needs and limits.

I strive to offer a warm, compassionate, and empathic therapeutic relationship, where each person's thoughts, emotions, and experiences are respected. Throughout therapy, I regularly invite your feedback about my suggestions and the direction of our work together, with the aim of co-creating a safe and supportive environment where you can explore yourself and flourish.

My training in intercultural and transcultural psychology enables me to adopt a culturally sensitive perspective that honours each person's unique background without reducing them to it.

I consider the interaction between an individual's psychological life and their cultural and anthropological context. I recognise that there is no single universal model for understanding psychopathology or mental health. Although the Western model is often regarded as the dominant one, it is not the sole framework through which psychological suffering can be understood. Every explanatory model is rooted in the culture that produced it, and one cultural model cannot simply be applied to another.

This perspective enables me to work with people from a wide variety of cultural backgrounds. I am able to understand and work alongside different cultural frameworks while integrating them thoughtfully with my own professional knowledge and practice.

Other key points

As part of my ongoing commitment to understanding systems of oppression, I also take into account the impact that social inequalities, discrimination, and structural oppression may have on psychological well-being and therapeutic work.

In my practice, I adhere to the Code of Ethics for Psychologists.

I engage in ongoing personal therapeutic work, receive regular clinical supervision, and continually expand my knowledge through professional training and continuing education.

Online Therapy

According to numerous studies, online psychotherapy offers outcomes comparable to in-person therapy. It provides significant advantages for some people, while others may find face-to-face sessions more suitable.

In the Resources section, you will find articles that may help you determine which format best suits your needs. Although these resources focus on EMDR therapy, the information is also relevant to other forms of psychotherapy.

Based on my experience as both a therapist and a client, here are my recommendations for successful online therapy sessions:

  • Choose a room where you will not be interrupted.

  • Ensure that the room is private and soundproof enough that conversations cannot be overheard.

  • Sit comfortably.

  • Use a computer with a reliable webcam and microphone.

  • Make sure you have a stable internet connection.

  • Keep water, tissues, and a therapy notebook nearby if you wish.
